We are working to build a comprehensive network of organisations that deliver and support ethics advice for policy across Europe.
Our aims are to:
- strengthen the links between European science and ethics organisations
- reinforce and broaden the range of expertise that the Ethics Advice Mechanism can draw on when developing its advice
- increase awareness of the significance of ethics advice to policy among a wide range of people in society
At the core of our network are a number of organisations with whom we have formal links:
- the European Network of Research Ethics Committees (EUREC), which is the organisation that delivers the SAEGE project for the European Commission
- the European Federation of Academies of Sciences and Humanities (ALLEA)
- Academia Europea
- the Young Academies Science Advice Structure (YASAS)
- the National Ethics Councils Forum
Within the Ethics Advice Mechanism, our network-building activities are overseen by SAEGE.
